Zimbabwe is a fantastic destination for a honeymoon. It offers a selection of remote wilderness areas, excellent game viewing and is of course home to one of the natural wonders of the world; Victoria Falls.
The Victoria Falls Hotel, known as ‘The Grand Old Lady of the Falls’ is the perfect place to retreat to after a morning tour of the falls to enjoy one of their famous high teas with the most spectacular views of the Victoria Falls Bridge and the spray from the Falls. No stay in Victoria Falls is complete without taking a romantic sunset cruise along the Zambezi where you may even be lucky enough to see elephants and crocodiles on the banks of the river. For those couples looking for an adrenalin rush, there is a huge range of activities available from white water rafting and jet boating to bungee jumping and gorge swinging.

Matetsi River Lodge
Home to abundant wildlife, Zimbabwe offers a variety of safari locations. Mana Pools is an incredibly special place and a truly remote wilderness experience, making it a perfect place to go on safari during your honeymoon. Due to its location, it is only accessible during the dry season from April to November/December when a multitude of wildlife arrives to escape the heat and take advantage of the water sources. There is only a small selection of camps in this remote park making it an exclusive safari experience and for those with an adventurous side, there are opportunities for walking safaris and canoeing trips. A recent addition to Mana Pools is Chikwenya Camp, a new Wilderness portfolio property. Wilderness Safaris are famed for their incredible service and dedication to conserve and restore Africa’s wilderness and wildlife. Their new camp is set in a private concession in Mana Pools and offers game drives, walks, boating and canoeing as well as access to the Sapi river and Chikwenya Island. The area offers large concentrations of buffalo and elephant, while predators such as lion, wild dog, leopard and cheetah are also often sighted.

Lake Kariba offers a perfect pace to relax at the start, middle or end of your honeymoon. There may be no need to spend hours flying to somewhere with a beach when you have this peaceful haven on your doorstep in Zimbabwe. The huge lake is neighboured by some wonderful accommodation options overlooking it. One of our favourites is Bumi Hills Safari Lodge where each of the ten stylish suites boast spectacular views over the lake and its surrounds. During your stay you can choose to purely relax by the infinity pool or enjoy one of the many activities on offer. There's also an excellent array of both water and land activities including game drives and exciting bush walks, boat cruises on the lake and fishing trips.
