On the outskirts of the picturesque village, this five-star property offers pampering and gourmet dining in a choice of luxury rooms, garden cottages and villa suites.
All are airy and elegant with comfort and great service, with the villa suites each boasting a lounge, large bathroom and two private balconies. The hotel can organise horse-riding in the valley, mountain-biking & wine tours as well as pampering treatments when you need to relax a little more.
Set outside the village in nice grounds, and with a range of accommodation from the good-value standard rooms to the very luxurious Villa Suites, which are some of the largest guest rooms in the wine region. The luxury rooms have working fireplaces and the garden cottages can accommodate parents with kids.
Set on the original site of Franschhoek’s first perfumery, today it’s the heavenly scent of chef Louis Jansen’s cooking that inspires at the Monneaux Restaurant, a Cape culinary classic. The restaurant serves an inspired contemporary take on Mediterranean classics influenced by local Cape Malay flavours which is skilfully blended into signature dishes and complimented by fresh seasonal produce sourced from the wine lands area.
The underground cellar is available for private functions where dinner can be enjoyed by an impressive selection of local and foreign wines. The restaurant’s bar lounge provide a comfortable environment to relax and enjoy the company you’re with.
All suites and villas (cottages) are tastefully decorated with a modern colonial twist. All have private balconies or patios (or both), luxury bathrooms and beds that you could sleep for days in. The Standard de Luxe Room is situated in the original manner house, showcasing original features. The Luxury Rooms are separately located from the main house and host a luxurious lounge area, fire place and one of the best indulgences – under carpet heating, great for those winter months. Finally there are the cottages which are perfect for if you are travelling with young children, as it gives them the space to be kids.
Franschhoek Country House & Villas can cater for children and we would recommend booking into a villa. They are more child friendly and is perfect with the extra space.
