A private forest wildlife experience hidden in a remote valley of the Northern Frontier District.
Small and intimate it involves its guests with the local community, by taking them on visits to local villages, but also by organising safari walks guided by the Samburu and Dorobo people.
Here it is possible to spot everything from elephant and leopard to wild orchids and spectacular butterflies. Accommodation is in six ensuite tents which all overlook the lush gorge of the Ngeng River.
Very remote but very intimate. Set in the Northern Frontier District, away from the safari masses, one of the highlights is the opportunity to be led by Samburu people on guided walks. Very diverse flora and fauna, with primate viewing also possible, but this is somewhere really for the second or third visitor, not for the safari virgin.
Nestled within the dramatic forests of the Mathews Mountain Range, Kitich Forest Camp has for many years featured an Italian influence over its cuisine. With only a maximum of 12 guests at any one time, meals are taken together, overlooking a lush river glade. Meals here follow a daily set menu, combining freshly baked bread, fresh organic ingredients and age-old Italian recipes.
General mealtimes are as follows:
Kitich Forest Camp is happy to cater to special diets such as vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc. Please make sure you inform us well in advance though, so that the camp managers can prepare for your arrival.
A unique forest hideaway, Kitich Forest Camp offers exclusive accommodation for a limited number of guests:
Each tent overlooks the lush gorge of the Ngeng River, and consists of a main bedroom with en suite bathroom (flush toilet and traditional safari shower).
Children of all ages are welcome
