Set on the Western fringe of the large fossil pan from which the camp takes its name, Nxai Pan Camp is a fantastic base from which to explore this stark, beautiful corner of Botswana. Activities include game drives and guided walks, as well as star gazing, which is very popular especially during the cool, clear winter months. The design of the rooms means that they stay warm in winter and cool in summer, which is no mean feat bearing in mind the massive temperature fluctuations that the region experiences. The summer months are also an ideal time to visit at the rains bring a whole new lease of life to the area and make for some fantastic game viewing opportunities.
If you are visiting Botswana in Green Season (November to February) then a visit to Nxai Pan Camp should be high on the agenda. The desert landscape comes to life during the rainy season, making for some extraordinary game viewing during the day and it is a great place for star gazing at night.
The food at Nxai Pan Camp is simple yet delicious, with fresh flavours and fantastic variety offered. Meals are generally served communally, however, if you want private dining at any point this can also be arranged.
There are 10 rooms (including 1 family room) here, all of which are spacious and simple, yet comfortably furnished. There are large decking areas in the front of them where you can relax during the day, as well as ensuite bathrooms.
Children accepted from 6 and older, but families will need to take a private vehicle until the children are 12. Specialist children's guides are available.
