In the Laikipia region close to the craggy peak of Mount Kenya lies the Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a 90,000 acre reserve that is home to a huge range of animal life including endangered and rare species.
This is one of the best places in East Africa to see rhino, the black, white and four of the remaining seven northern white rhino to be found here. Other species that can be encountered on game drives and walks with your expert guides include lion, cheetah, giraffe, buffalo and endangered wild dog. The conservancy is also home to a sanctuary for rescued chimpanzees.
In addition to its commitment to invest in community development through wildlife tourism in Ol Pejeta, Porini Rhino Camp is designed to have a minimal environmental impact with no permanent structures and solar powered lighting. The camp is perfect for those looking for an authentic, down-to-earth safari experience and with just seven tents a feeling of exclusivity and personal service can be expected.
Excellent game viewing and superb staff and guides make Porini Rhino Camp a great choice for a traditional, eco friendly safari.
All meals are included during your stay and the kitchen staff will keep you well fed with fresh, delicious fare, whether it is a bush breakfast or lunch in the shade of a tree.
There are seven comfortable, traditional safari tents which are tastefully furnished and situated to enjoy the surrounding views. The camp is designed to have a minimal environmental impact but the tents still have the comforts of solar powered lighting, a flush toilet and a hot shower.
While children aged 8 and older are accepted please note that there are no special children's activities. There are better options for families in the area.
