Primate Lodge is located in the heart of Kibale Rainforest National Park, Uganda’s primates’ paradise and home to over 13 different species of primates, numerous other mammals, butterflies and birds. Accommodation consists of 16 spacious and en-suite luxury cottages, each secluded deep in the forest for maximum privacy and a natural ‘living in nature’ feel.
For the adventurous at heart we recommend staying in the secluded Sky Tree House. Elevated about ten metres above the ground overlooking an elephant meadow, it enjoys excellent views over the forest canopy and is regularly visited by black and white colobus monkeys, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys, forest elephants and even chimpanzees at times.
Luxury Cottages- There are nine spacious Luxury Cottages set on raised wooden platforms secluded in the forest. These rooms have double or king-sized beds with mosquito nets, lounge areas with comfortable armchairs, reading tables, en suite bathrooms, and a shaded veranda from which to marvel at the superb forest views.
Standard Cottages - The seven newly refurbished Standard Cottages are private and en-suite with a well-furnished bedroom and a lovely bathroom. Each room also enjoys beautiful views of the surrounding forest vegetation from the wide glass windows and doors as well as from the spacious veranda overlooking the rainforest.
Sky Tree House- For the adventurous at heart, the lodge offers a secluded Sky Tree House about 200 metres deep in the forest. The bedroom is fitted with a bunk bed providing comfortable sleeping for maximum two persons on separate beds. Guests dine at the lodge dining room but need to please be escorted to and from the Tree House before dusk and after day break.
Although children are welcome at the lodge, if you are under the age of 15 you will not be able to partake on the treks.
