Thonga Beach Lodge

Overview

Set in a coastal dune forest with glorious views of the beach and luxurious accommodation. The spacious and airy suites all have private balconies and views over the ocean or the forest.

A myriad of activities are available including snorkelling, world-class scuba-diving and swimming, sometimes with dolphins and whale sharks. The lodge is also close to Lake Sibaya, South Africa’s largest freshwater lake and part of the Isimangaliso Wetland Park. Here, boat trips can be taken and superb bird watching enjoyed.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

Turtle-tracking, snorkelling, diving, swimming and canoeing are the attractions of this remote beach lodge hidden away on the KwaZulu Natal coastline.

A short flight or road journey from Thonga to the Phinda Private Game Reserve makes this perfect to create a South African bush and beach adventure.

  • The beach
  • Water sports
  • Al fresco dining
  • Massage facilities
  • Swimming pool

The Main area has a dining room which hosts all the meals. With a continental & traditional buffet breakfast and hot breakfast on order.  A hot & cold buffet lunch and 3 course dinner with a choice of each course. Most meals will be served al fresco, or if you want something slightly different you can head for the beach and dine by candlelight on the shores of the Indian Ocean.

With its beach-like setting nestled into a magnificent costal dune forest, it gives off the best Robinson Crusoe vibe. Thatched roofs and natural materials are used throughout each lodge making it sleek and stylish. Prop you feet up on your own deck and watch the world pass you by.
