&Beyond's Tengile River Lodge is a warm, contemporary safari lodge ideally situated in the game-rich Sabi Sands Game Reserve, sharing unfenced boundaries with the world-renowned Kruger National Park. Sabi Sands is one of the finest game reserves in Africa and is known for its excellent leopard sighting opportunities. The lodge is designed to follow the curves of the river bank, meaning that unrivalled views of the river are guaranteed at every angle.
When translated from the native Tsonga language, the word tengile means "tranquil" and this property certainly lives up to its billing. Serene space is distributed throughout the grounds, creating private areas perfect for small gatherings both inside and outside the lodge. Floating suites settled in the shade of a riverine offer incredible views of the Sand River from all vantage points. Privacy is key here, each suite has its own private deck with a lap pool and sunken outdoor lounges, and the en-suite bathrooms open out onto the forest.
Being situated within one of the world's most acclaimed game reserves, it's only natural that a superb game drive is available from the site. Early morning and late afternoon pick ups are offered in a reserve with a strict vehicle limit, meaning exclusivity in your safari experience is certain.
One of &Beyond's most recently opened properties, Tengile River Lodge is an exclusive safari haven on a bend of the Sand River and continues the tradition of authentic yet extremely modern luxury accommodation.
Tengile River Lodge is home to 9 luxury modern thatched suites, all with views overlooking the Sand River. These spacious suites are raised above ground level offering sunken lounges and large, elegant bedrooms and bathrooms. These rooms open out into the forest, creating a private space both indoors and outdoors. All of these air-conditioned suites come with a private deck, lap pool and outdoor lounge.
This property is suitable for children aged 12 years and over. There are two large family suites with interleading doors on the property, which can accommodate families of two adults and two children. The suites are equipped with Wi-Fi and with early morning and evening game drives available, there is plenty to keep children entertained.
