An intimate and private safari camp in the Makalali Conservancy, The Garonga Safari Camp's philosophy is to offer a relaxing and holistic experience, making it a true 'safari for the soul'. Guests stay either at the main camp, which has recently been refurbished and features six separate suites or in its sister camp, Little Garonga, which has just three. Each lodge has a main eating, meeting and relaxing area, as well as a swimming pool and a massage sala, all of which overlooks a waterhole.
Sticking to its "safari for the soul" philosophy, the property achieves this through its tranquil outdoor bush baths and therapeutic massage sala offering beauty treatments, aromatherapy, reflexology and reiki.
Black Rhino were reintroduced into the reserve in 2015, so both Black and White Rhinos are now frequently seen on game drives. As well as game drives, the property offers activities such as bird watching, sleep outs, and guided walks and wildlife tours.
Billed as safari for the soul, it does exactly what it says on the tin. Game drives and walks are supplemented by sleep-outs and bush baths, but for many the real attractions are the aromatherapy treatments and reflexology massages available. Stay for at least three nights to fully bliss-out.
The ritual of a very good feast is one of the property’s main features insomuch that Garonga’s chefs have decided to share their culinary knowledge by creating an online recipe book. You can choose amongst an intimate dinner in the boma, under the star or a wild bush picnic. Focused on a superior combination of different types of ingredients, every meal is an exquisite oasis of pleasure. An array of excellent local wines perfectly accompanies all courses.
Garonga has six luxury rooms nestled into ebony trees and three suites. Recently refurbished to a high standard and Provided with comforts and proper equipment such as ceiling fans, indoor and outdoor showers, platform decks, hammocks, mini-bar and swimming pool, they are the quintessential of African Safari style and the perfect spot for an amazing overview over the wild reserve.
This property greets children over the age of 7 years.
