Nestled quietly away on its own coffee estate on the lower foothills of Mt Meru, Arusha Coffee Lodge is a haven of tranquillity away from busy Arusha and a great place to start or indeed end your adventure around Northern Tanzania.
The whole feel of the lodge comes from it's colonial heritage, the original building was constructed during the early 1900's and the Plantation Rooms and Suites are designed to be a nod to this era, with open fireplaces, elegant, comfortable decor and furnishings and stunning views. The food is a real feature of any stay here, with a superb choice of dining options when you are at the property and picnic lunches offered if you are out exploring further afield.
Whilst Arusha is often skipped entirely or just used as an overnight stop, the majesty of Arusha Coffee Lodge is making it well worth at least a couple of nights at the start or end of an itinerary. This elegant, wonderfully relaxing property is fast becoming one of the gems of Northern Tanzania which is a serious accolade considering the quality of properties found throughout the region.
Arusha is often passed by visitors looking to start their safari adventure, but it is a great base to relax and recover for a night or two especially for those having flown overnight to get here. Arusha Coffee Lodge is a great option for your stay.
The property is on a working coffee farm and retains a wonderfully traditional feel to it, with cozy rooms and suites, superb food and stunning views. A morning coffee tour is always popular with guests before moving on for their safari proper.
Whether it is the delicious breakfast, 4 course buffet lunch or one of the two restaurant choices for a la carte dining, the food at Arusha Coffee Lodge is simply superb. For dinners Bacchus is their fine dining option and the elegant menu choices are complimented by a fantastic wine list. 3 Degrees South offers a bistro style menu throughout the day and night for a more informal but equally delicious dining experience. Room service is also available.
The 30 rooms are comprised of 18 Plantation Rooms and 12 Plantation Suites. The Suites are more spacious and boast their own private terraces and outdoor log burning fires which are very popular. They also have the option to come with their own butler at a small additional cost and are well worth considering. The Plantation Rooms are lovely as well.
Children are welcome from any age, under 11's are accommodated free of charge
