As it name suggests, Belmond Savute Elephant Lodge is known for the herds of elephants that can be spotted roaming its plains. As well as high concentrations of elephant, the area is home to great prides of lions and other mighty predators and has been extensively featured in wildlife documentaries by the BBC and National Geographic.
Probably one of the most luxurious camps in Chobe, The lodge offers large spacious tented rooms with air conditioning, a swimming pool, an indoor lounge and a dining area. The camp also has its own traditional boma, where guests can relax in the evening and swap safari experiences while marvelling over the stars in the vast African night sky.
As with all Belmond destinations, this is a place to really feel the pulse of Botswana - and to become a part of it yourself.
A Belmond property which brings everything that the brand represents to Chobe – superior accommodation, fine dining and safari activities which range from game drives and bird watching to star gazing and visiting the local bushmen paintings. It is often standing-room only on the observation deck which overlooks a water hole, so don’t linger after lunch to grab a spot.
Enjoy a relaxed meal overlooking the stunning Savute channel in our raised restaurant. Gazing over the channel which is home to one of Africa’s largest elephant population you will be treated to delicious cuisine created by our skilled in house chefs.
Through out the day you will be able to relax is in the quiet atmosphere of the lounge sampling exotic treats or simply sitting back with a cup of tea taking in the remote landscape.
Skilled chefs are always on hand to prepare light meals or snacks for the game drives through the Chobe National park.
The luxury accommodation is all about the view.
Housed on raised wooden platforms, our luxury tents feature sliding glass doors that bring the outside in, allowing you to observe the abundant wildlife from the comfort of your room.
Step outside onto your large private deck - furnished with easy chairs and a hammock - ideal for admiring the beautiful plain, or for enjoying a romantic dinner in complete privacy.
