Overview

A historic wine estate dating back to 1685, Boschendal is located almost equidistant from the wine region’s big hitting towns – Franschhoek, Stellenbosch and Paarl – and has long had a great reputation for its wines, restaurant and the terrific picnics which are served in the tree-lined and majestic grounds. 

A wide variety of self catering accommodation options are available to guests staying on the farm. From 1 bedroom cottages to a five bedroom cottage perfect for larger families. All have full kitchens or kitchenettes in the smaller cottages. The emphasis is on stylish simplicity the guest cottages are authentic, rural yet contemporary in character. 

Guests enjoy privileged access to the entire farm and activities available include vineyard tours, mountain biking, hiking, trout fishing, horse riding and farm history tours.

The farm has three restaurants, The Werf, The Deli and The Rhone Homestead. Picnic lunches to be enjoyed in the farm's gardens are also available

The Werf
The estate's flagship restaurant and situated in the beautifully revamped original cellar of the Manor House. Farm to table dining is the order of the day with the restaurant sourcing the finest, local, seasonal and ethically sourced ingredients like beef from their own herd of Angus cattle.

The Farmshop & Deli
Very family friendly, the farmshop and deli serves delicious breakfasts, lunches and afternoon teas. Indoor and outdoor seating is available and guests can purchase fresh farm bread, artisanal jams and home-made preserves.

The Rhone Homestead
Situated next to the winery, the Rhone Homestead is open for buffet lunches every Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
