Rebuilt and relocated in 2012, Dumatau is a fantastic camp for an all round Botswana experience for those a little pushed for time as it's location means it offers an excellent combination of water and land based activities. Day and night drives, walks, boating and fishing trips as well as Mokoro safaris are all available. Birders will also love the hide they have built, a superb place to relax and watch the local avian life that visits the camp regularly. The view from the rooms and public areas over the lagoon is stunning and well worth enjoying for an afternoon. The colonial fee bedrooms are very spacious and comfortable, very welcoming after a long day exploring the bush.
With a stunning location overlooking a lagoon and easy access to both land and water activities, Dumatau is a wonderful camp for an all-round Botswana experience. Their exclusive hide makes this a great destination for birding enthusiasts.
Meals are enjoyed either in the dining area or out on the open deck, with fantastic views over the lagoon. Wherever they are served, you will be assured fresh, quality food to keep you going for your exploration of the Linyati.
Dumatau is made up of 9 doubles and 1 family tent, all of which have a strong colonial explorer feel to them. They are spacious and comfortably furnished, with their own decking areas that have fantastic views out across the lagoon.
There are two family tents which can accommodate everyone and there are a huge range of activities for them to get involved in from game drives, birding, and taking to the river by motor boat, as well as hides and various platforms.
