Located at the foot of the Outeniqua Mountains and one of the foremost golfing destinations in the southern hemisphere, accommodation is split between the Fancourt Hotel and the Manor House.
The former has a selection of rooms and suites, scattered throughout the beautiful grounds whilst the latter is a traditional colonial manor house which has been transformed into a luxury hotel. Featuring both a Kids and Teens club, the hotel offers activities for all the family - there are 4 swimming pools, tennis courts, 3 Gary Player designed courses and a golf academy.
Much more than just a ‘golf hotel’, with a great spa, fitness centre, tennis and children’s club. Although the nearby town of George does not offer much for the tourist , the celebrated Garden Route settlements of Knysna, Wilderness & Plettenberg Bay are only a short drive away.
Henry White’s is the fine dining option, offering a classic dining experience, open Thursday to Monday for dinner only.
La Cantina offers a relaxed family dining option, with a focus on Mediterranean and Italian dishes. It is open for breakfast and dinner as well as the popular Sunday Lunch Buffet.
Morning Glory is located next to the Spa and serves breakfast lunch and dinner (dinner Tuesday to Saturday) in a laid back, conservatory style restaurant, including Sushi served from Midday each day.
The Club Lounge overlooks the 18th green of the Montagu Course and serves light snacks between 10:00am and 11:00pm daily.
The hotel is split into Luxury, One and Two Bedroom Suites, which are spread throughout the grounds of the hotel. There is also the recently refurbished Manor House, for a more traditional and intimate feel.
Fancourt is becoming increasingly child friendly, with specially designed programmes to get them to explore the flora and fauna of the local area. There is also the chance for them to learn golf and specially designed menus in the restaurants. Families are encouraged to take Two Bedroom Suites when travelling with children.
