Located adjacent to one of the most game rich areas of the South Luangwa, offering guests accommodation in spacious, brick and thatch bush suites, Luangwa River Camp is a perennial favourite of guests returning to this fantastic National Park. The guiding from here is superb, with guides really bringing to life the magic of what you see as you make your way through the park. Lion and leopard are very common around here and you will even have the chance to track them on foot. The main area of the lodge provides a comfortable lounge, bar and dining area, with the split level swimming pool a popular place to cool off in the heat of the afternoon. The rooms are lovely and comfortable and the sunken baths give you a wonderful view out into the bush as you relax after a day of exploration.
Small and intimate with lovely spacious suites, Luangwa River Camp is an excellent option for guests looking to explore the South Luangwa in comfort, but without breaking the bank. The location is fantastic, providing easy access to one of the most game rich areas of the reserve which is explored with the excellent guides.
Eating here is usually a communal affair, although private dining can be arranged should you wish. Delicious meals are prepared and served in the main dining area, but the staff will sometimes surprise you with a wonderful bush dinner.
There are just 5 bush suites at Luangwa River Camp, meaning a really intimate feel to the camp. The rooms are a solid construction, with brick walls and thatched roofs and spacious bedrooms leading into the large en-suite bathrooms. The sunken bathtubs are a really popular feature.
Children aged 7 and over are welcome.
