Despite these uncertain times, Namibia continues to be the perfect destination to visit. Home to vast land and beautiful, rugged landscapes, in Namibia, social distancing was the norm, long before it became a necessity. With a low population and strong COVID-safety measures in place, they're getting ready to welcome you back to their pristine vistas of endless horizons.
At noon today, the minister of Forestry, Environment and Tourism, the honourable Pohamba Shifeta made a surprise announcement.
The Namibian Tourism Revival protocols have been amended and tourists arriving into Namibia will no longer be required to spend their first 7 nights at one establishment.
If you arrive with a negative PCR test, that is not more than 72 hours old, you can proceed with your pre-booked itinerary, and technicians from the Ministry of Health and Social Services will travel to you on day 5 to administer a follow-up test. You must be reachable on day 7 to receive the results of the swabbing. If the result is negative, then you will be released from any surveillance. If the result is positive, you will be taken to the isolation facilities identified by the Ministry of Health and Social Services and treated at your own cost and according to national case management guidelines.
