The Sabi Sabi is one of the most environmentally-sensitive safari lodges in South Africa. Built into the curves of the landscape, and in the colour of the earth, it blends into the landscape so well that it is almost invisible when viewed from a long distance.
With just 13 suites, it provides an intimate safari experience, with each of the suites offering spacious living, sleeping and bathing accommodation as well as a large viewing deck and private plunge pool. The lodge also offers an art gallery showing local work, a fine wine cellar, and a meditation garden. Four of the lodges are even located in the Sabi Sand Game Reserve itself.
There is also an Amani spa at the Earth Lodge, allowing you to unwind in luxury facilities between safaris. The spa has a Zen meditation area, a couple’s treatment suite and provides a number of treatments and massages, including hydrotherapy. Aromatherapy and hot stone massages are also available as well as manicures, pedicures and multiple specialist treatments.
The Sabi Sabi Safari Lodge’s biggest attraction however is the game excursions into the world-famous Sabi Sabi Private Game Reserve. There is an extensive daily programme of safaris available for guests to enjoy, giving you a multitude of opportunities to witness the wild game that resides in the Sabi Sabi. The programme of luxury African safaris available at the Sabi Sabi includes morning safaris, morning guided bush walks and evening safaris.
The morning safari takes place before sun rise, and is followed by the morning bush walk, which is ideal for getting up close to the diversity of trees, shrubs and plants that occupy the Sabi Sabi. The Bush walk is also a great opportunity for birdwatchers; approximately 350 species of bird, including 11 species of owl, cuckoo hawks and bat hawks reside in the Sabi Sabi, and these guided walks give you a great opportunity to see them. As well as the possibility of seeing some of the Sabi Sabi’s fiercest game, the evening safari also gives you the opportunity to witness a spectacular African sunset, as glowing, vibrant red and orange colours fill the sky.
The safaris give you a great chance to witness an array of fantastic animals in the wild. There are many opportunities to see big five game such as buffalo, rhino, elephant, lion and leopard. There are also cheetahs and wild dog in the area.
An extraordinary property from the famed Sabi Sabi portfolio; very environmentally-sensitive, the rooms and buildings blend into and under the surroundings. Those wanting to stay in the room where a tree appears to be magically growing out of the bed towards the ceiling need to book the Amber Presidential Suite.
Definitely a stunning venue to watch game, the new covered day bar allows you to luxuriously enjoy a great relaxing time sipping refreshing cocktails or tasting the gourmet specialities prepared by renowned chefs. You can also pamper yourself with the most delicious meals served by the central ponds or in the boma.
Earth lodge has 13 suites boasting ultra-luxury comforts, furniture and atmosphere. Individually designed, decorated with touches of gold and silver, they comprise en-suite glass-fronted bathrooms with deep stone baths, shaded showers, private plunge pools and lounging chairs looking the bushveld. The property also has the Amber Suite, often described as the most beautiful suite in the world: elegant chandeliers, private landrover, hand-crafted tables, armoires and mirrors are just few of the numerous luxurious facilities which will amaze even the most demanding travellers.
