Two camps each with nine Bedouin-style tents, closely positioned near each other and in proximity to one of the great migration corridors.
Guests can enjoy the wilderness and the abundance of wildlife all from the excitement of living under canvas with the heartbeat of Africa at close proximity. The camps are mobile and move periodically in tandem with the game to maximise the game viewing. An unrivalled and authentic luxury tented experience.
A simple idea which is beautifully executed – when the game moves, the camp moves with it, relocating every few months to try to stay in close proximity to the herds of the Great Migration. As far removed from ‘boy scout camping’ as you can imagine.
A dedicated sitting and dining tent provides deep sofas from which to contemplate the vastness and peace of the surrounding landscape. Custom made Indian rugs and polished brass samovars add a touch of elegance and romance. Relax under the dark velvet night sky and sample hearty cuisine served on sparkling crystal and silver that reflects the sparkling light of millions of shining stars. Cluster around a roaring campfire to share stories of the day’s magic and listen to the African night come alive.
Semi-permanent wilderness camps feature Bedouin style tents complete with ensuite facilities, separate loos and outdoor bucket showers. The spacious tent interiors boast elegant finishes of Persian rugs and chandeliers.
Children 6 years and older are welcome, however, Serengeti Under Canvas is regrettably not suitable for children younger than 6 years unless the full camp is booked. There is one large tent, ideal for families.
