Commanding a wonderful location in a 5,000 acre private concession of the Ngamo Forest, Bomani Tented Lodge is perfect for visitors looking for a laid back safari experience.
The emphasis here is on flexibility, with guests being offered the chance to tailor their safaris and activities around what they want to do. Whether this means a full day out on game drives or a quiet morning taking breakfast on your private veranda, the staff will be able to arrange this for you. In addition to the adventurous safari options on offer, guests can take a tour to the local village where many of the lodge’s staff are drawn from.
A relaxed and informal lodge, Bomani provides a great safari experience in friendly surroundings. For a small supplement upgrade to a Spurwing tent and enjoy the extra space and a view over the waterhole. The lodge works closely with the local communities and the village and school visit is a must.
The commitment the lodge has to the local community is reflected in the menu, with the chef offering traditional dishes made from fresh, locally sourced produce. The menu is complimented by a superb choice of South African wines, all served outside with an open fireplace to keep you warm during the cooler months.
Ten tents and one thatched bungalow make up the lodge. All are similarly equipped with simple, comfortable furnishings and en-suite bathrooms. 6 of the tents are raised 1 metrte from the floor, with the other 4 set at ground level. The stone and thatch cottage provides an excellent option for those wishing to visit the reserve but not inclined to stay under canvas!
Not an ideal location for children, better options exist in Hwange itself.
