Imvelo Camelthorn is the most luxurious lodge of their portfolio and certainly the most unique of the 3 offerings. Set in unspoilt woodlands of the Hwange National Park, this is a paradise for birders and those who are looking for a less traditional safari experience.
The lodge is set 1km from the nearest waterhole, so animals cannot be seen directly from the lodge, however this protects the forest from the elephants and means that birdlife can be found in abundance. A specially designed hide looks on to the waterhole and guests can be escorted up here whenever they wish to view the animals coming in to drink.
A peaceful lodge with unique rooms nestled in the forest, Camelthorn is a wonderful option for those not looking for a tented camp. The sunken hide is a fantastic way to get extremely close up views of the game.
The chef uses fresh, seasonal products to produce a delicious, daily changing menu. Guests can dine in the privacy of their own villas should they wish.
Set in a large grove of Camelthorn and Ebony trees, the glass fronted rooms offer fantastic views out into the forest. They are all well furnished and have their own maisonette areas where guests can relax, enjoy their meals and even sleep out under the stars.
Not an ideal option for children – we can offer better options elsewhere in Hwange.
