Situated next to Xakanaxa Lagoon in a famously rewarding area of Botswana's Moremi Game Reserve, Camp Okuti offers a fabulous retreat in a classic wildlife sanctuary where the peaceful surroundings will relax you as much as the dramatic game viewing will thrill you. It's a year-round destination set on the fringes of the Okavango Delta and makes for a perfect safari for first-time visitors to Botswana. Enjoy exciting morning and afternoon game drives in a specially designed safari vehicle, allowing for close encounters with the area's abundant big game and numerous other animals. You will also cruise across deep lagoons and along winding reed-lined channels by motorboat, perhaps visiting a huge heron and stork breeding site. Alternatively, set out on a fly or spin-fishing excursion along the edge of Xakanaxa Lagoon, or simply relax on the communal deck watch the wildlife go by.
Few camps in Botswana cater well for families, but Camp Okuti leads the way. The funky rooms have domed reed roofs, with a number having two bedrooms and a bathroom – perfect for a family. The camp also operates a specialist family safari programme where kids are entertained and educated from dawn until dusk. A market leader in family safaris.
Camp Okuti has a bar, swimming pool, a fully stocked curio shop and a laundry service. Okuti's child-friendly activities and spacious luxury accommodation makes this a perfect family holiday.
Enjoy specially-prepared meals in Camp Okuti's semi-open dining area. Depending on your preference, you could also dine in the open-air boma under the stars or in a more private setting of your choice. Okuti's chefs use only the freshest possible ingredients and combine African and Western styles to ensure a wonderful meal.
Camp Okuti consists of five stunning twin-bed units and an additional two two-bedroom family unit. Each of these curved-roof chalets are set on raised teak decks which extend to offer a viewing platform of the river and its floodplains. The main units feature an en suite bathroom with indoor and outdoor showers, a flush toilet and hot and cold running water.
For families, Camp Okuti offers a family unit which consists of two spacious bedrooms and shared bathroom facilities similar to the twin units
Ideal for families with two family units – Okuti accepts children from 7 years old all year round. There are plenty of activities for them to become involved in from game drives to exploring the delta via motor boat.
