Built around an ancient termite mound, Safari Lodge is a magical and unforgettable experience for those looking for an authentic safari.
There are just eight tent-style rooms, each with its own balcony, offering space and great views, and there are also two large family suites plus Tree Lodge, which has eight light-filled tree-houses from where guests can watch stars, birds and squirrels.
The main lodge areas overlook an established waterhole where guests can relax with a cool cocktail and watch the game come to drink and bathe.
Two separate camps – Tree and Safari - which pioneered family travel to South Africa long before it became so popular. Family suites, kiddies’ mini game drives & activities, baby-sitting and children’s menus all combine in a malaria-free environment – one of the country’s best for all generations.
Jaci’s thrives off a relaxed atmosphere creating a relaxed environment. You can sample the chefs delights at an African-style spread in a boma, where the fire roars and you swap stories with fellow guests. Or enjoy service under the stars for a more intimate feel. Expect fresh, seasonal South African produce that’s tailored around your game drives.
There are a couple of lodge types depending on what you are looking for and for how many people.
Safari Lodge – Nare Suite
The Nare suite (which sleeps up to six) has a master and guest bedroom downstairs each with open an plan bathroom, a handmade rock bath and outdoor safari shower. The upstairs loft, which has its own toilet, is ideal for children. It also has a wooden viewing deck which overlooks the waterhole, on which you can kick back and enjoy watching the animals and birds that visit.
Safari Lodge – Safari Suite
The Safari Suite (which can sleep up to eight) is perfect for larger families looking for a more exclusive & intimate bush experience. Designed & decorated with the vibrant colours and African textures featured at Jaci's Safari Lodge, incorporating canvas and thatch the luxurious well-appointed Safari Suite is the perfect family safari venue.
Jaci’s Tree Lodge
Perched high on wooden stilts, this is like every childhood dream come true. There are eight cabins connected by a wooden walkway and projects views across to the Marico River. Made up off African Rosewood and thatched roofs it’s as charming as it is magical. With a real sense of outdoors in and amenities such as a king-sized bed, stone bath, and outdoor shower it’s really a honeymoon haven.
Having raised three children on the reserve, Jaci’s lodges pride themselves on being a place for children to learn and explore. They can arrange family own game drives, or if you have little ones a ‘Jungle Drive’ can be sorted. A deliberately shorter drive they get to experience the surroundings in a time they’ll be paying attention! There’s also a games room, swimming pools and the chef can cater to any food requests you may have.
Families can rest up in the Safari Lodge Suites, and specifically the Nare suite and Safari suite, and if you have younger children who want to sleep in the parents room, then a roll out bed can be put in place.
