Set within Mana Pools National Park in northern Zimbabwe John's Camp is a small, semi-permanent camp looking out over the floodplains of the Zambezi River.
The camp has just six tents so guests are assured of an intimate experience and personal service. This is a place to come to disconnect from the modern world (there is no WiFi or mobile reception) and also to reconnect with nature in this remote park surrounded by the sights and sounds of the African bush. Herds of elephants and buffalos and numerous antelope species can be seen along with prides of lions, leopards and packs of wild dogs.
Mana Pools has some of the best walking safaris in Africa allowing you to discover the smaller elements of the bush such as insects and plants as well as encountering big game while on foot. If you are feeling more adventurous spend a night under the stars on the camp's sleep out platform or get back to basics camping in gauze dome tents.
John's Camp provides an authentic under canvas safari for those looking for a close to nature experience in this wild and remote park.
Dining tent, campfire, star deck sleep out platform
Each of the six canvas tents have views over the floodplain and an ensuite bathroom complete with flush loo and bucket shower.
Day game drives, walking, fishing, star deck and gauze dome tent sleep out
The minimum age at the camp is 12.
