Kiba Point is a superb private camp, set just downstream from it's sister camp Sand River Selous, but offering a great retreat for families or small groups looking to enjoy their safaris at their own pace and style.
Up to eight guests are accommodated across the four rooms here and the rooms are all wonderfully luxurious, with spacious bedrooms, excellent bathrooms with outdoor showers and even their own plunge pools. The main areas are elegant and well appointed and a great place to relax in the afternoons and take in the landscape of the Selous.
The wealth of activities on offer also help to make Kiba Point very popular. In addition to game drives and walks one can enjoy overnight fly camping in the bush as well as visits to the nearby Stiegler's Gorge and Hot springs if you are looking for some variety in your activities.
A fantastic choice if you are looking for a private camp in the Selous and the size makes it perfect for two families travelling together and looking for some real adventure. We would highly recommend at least a night of fly camping when staying here where you can enjoy a night sleeping out in the bush, but with the camp staff all on hand to make the experience as enjoyable as possible.
Being a private camp, meals at Kiba Point are planned around your daily activities which is one of the beauties of Kiba Point. Bush picnics are very popular here as is al-fresco dining under the stars at dinner time. No matter what meal you are enjoy the menu will be fresh, varied an innovative enjoyed with a great choice of wines and of course your friends and family.
The camp is made up of four open fronted stone and thatch cottages which are raised above the ground. With two doubles, one twin and a childs room it is an ideal option for either small groups or families. Bathrooms are en-suite with delightful outdoor showers and all rooms benefit from having their own plunge pools - a real treat in summer!
A great option for families as it can only be booked on a private basis. Kids are welcome from five and older but must be 12 or older to enjoy walking safaris.
