A beach hotel in the heart of a landlocked country.
White sand edges the shores of Lake Kivu, Africa’s sixth largest lake, making it an ideal playground for those wishing to relax and recharge their batteries.
Set in extensive and beautifully landscaped tropical gardens the hotel sports 72 rooms and suites, a swimming pool, tennis courts, panoramic restaurant and the Maisha Health Centre, which offers a comprehensive menu of beauty and body treatments.
A great spot for some post-gorilla relaxation on beaches which few know exist.
The spa is excellent, and traditional water sports, tennis and volleyball can all be enjoyed, but a visit should also be made to the nearby orphanage.
The hotel's main restaurant, The Kiyaga Restaurant, looks out over the swimming pool towards the palm trees and white sandy beach of the lake. Offering an extensive buffet breakfast, and both buffet and a la carte lunch and dinner choices, Kiyaga features Rwandese, African and international cuisine, and showcases a number of colourful theme nights. The hotel is also famous for its monthly beach parties, which feature a lakeside buffet, a beach bonfire and live music.
A wide selection of snacks and drinks can be enjoyed at our Ziwani Café, which is located below the pool overlooking the white sandy beach of the lake. Ziwani is also the venue for our beach BBQs, poolside BBQs and evening sundowners, all of which feature live local music and traditional Intore dancers
