Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge

Overview

A place which offers tranquillity atop a towering terracotta escarpment, allowing amazing views of the lake and the landscape.

Accommodation is in circular thatched rooms based on traditional Masai bomas and each room has a verandah. Public areas are reached via a wooden bridge over a stream and consist of dining room, bar, infinity pool and a stunning observation point.

Highlights

Our Thoughts

The rooms are based on traditional bomas and the Serena level of service is always evident at this lodge. The views down over the lake are superb and although only a two night stay is really recommended here it is the perfect location at which to begin a Tanzanian safari before you hit the big guns of Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.

  • Central dining room and bar
  • Outside dining terrace

  • Game drives daily
  • Swimming pool and pool deck

The rooms are housed in circular, double-storey, white-washed ‘rondavels' (traditional circular buildings with conical thatched roofs) which are set in beautiful gardens. Each spacious circular room has its own small veranda while the interior décor reflects the blue of the lake and the pink of its flamingos. Behind each bed hangs a spectacular hand-woven rug, while the furnishings and fittings reflect traditional Maasai beadwork.
