Moremi Crossing is found on Ntswi Island, not far from it's smaller sister camp Gunn's and, whilst offering a similar experience, it has a more open, family feel to it, with 16 tents including a 2 bedroom family unit. The focus here, as at Gunn's is on water based activities, with the permanent water meaning mokoro and boat trips can be enjoyed year round, as well as walking and birding excursions when the water levels permit. The tens are simple but very comfortable with lovely veranda areas at the front - a perfect spot for spending an afternoon between activities enjoying a good book and taking in the fantastic view. A real draw card for Moremi Crossing is the Wilderness sleepouts that they offer, giving guests the chance to spend an evening camping on an island under the stars. When not enjoying the activities guests will be able to relax in the crescent shaped bar and lounge area, designed to maximise the views and offer the chance for some ad-hoc game viewing. Moremi Crossing is a truly superb safari destination, complimenting another sister camp - Pom Pom - really well if you are looking to enjoy a mixture of water based and land based activities.
If you are looking for a lodge which allows you to spend your time exploring the Delta on its many waterways then Moremi Crossing is for you. The location means that mokoro safaris and boat trips are de rigueur throughout the year, with walking also being offered depending on water levels. Moremi Crossing also has a unique option for those feeling more adventurous - Wilderness sleep-outs. During your stay, you will spend an afternoon canoeing to a remote island before setting up camp with your guide and enjoying a night under the stars. A magical experience for those looking to enjoy the Delta from a unique perspective.
The food is lovely at Moremi Crossing, with meals generally a communal affair, although private dining can be arranged on your veranda should you wish.
With 16 tents, Moremi Crossing is relatively large compared to some other Delta camps, but this serves to create a wonderful friendly atmosphere in the camp, especially at meal times when tales of the day's game viewing are shared. The tents are spacious and comfortable, elegantly furnished with their own private verandas at the front which are a popular spot to while away a relaxing afternoon between activities.
A good option for families who want to enjoy water based activities, but please be aware there are no vehicle based activities. There is a family tent here as well.
