A classic tented camp located on a private concession in the Okavango Delta, Sanctuary Stanley's Camp offers a varied game viewing experience as well as our unique elephant interaction. Set among ebony and sausage trees, Sanctuary Stanley’s Camp is located on a 260,000 acre private concession bordering the Moremi Game Reserve. The natural wonders of the area constantly change over the seasons from lush green when the rain flows down the Angolan highlands, to dry savannah when the neighbouring Kalahari Desert tightens its grip on the terrain. The camp is the home of the unique Living with Elephants interaction. Walking with two orphaned elephants is an uplifting experience and one that will remain with you long after you’ve left.
An excellent Okavango experience, which has an added extra – an exclusive elephant interaction programme. Guests are able to join two semi-habituated elephants as they take their morning walk through the bush. It is well worth the extra charge levied but as it is a very popular activity the recommendation is to book your ele-walk well in advance of your arrival.
The main area features a bar from where refreshing drinks are always served with a smile, a small library area and curio shop. From the swimming pool - a real treat after a hot day of game viewing - guests can watch giraffe and other plains game march across the savannah and sometimes catch a glimpse of rare wild dogs. Everything about Sanctuary Stanley's Camp is built to the highest ecological standards so that we don't damage this highly sensitive area.
Sanctuary Stanley's Camp's meals are all freshly prepared. The camp prides itself on its personalised service and this includes your culinary preferences and needs. Come dine with us in spectacular locations where scrumptious meals are served. Where would you like to be seated? In the company of two elephants or with your feet in the cool waters of the Okavango Delta?
The 10 tents are built around an imposing sausage tree and blend in seamlessly with the pristine surroundings. Each tent is individually designed to create the most comfortable living space for you. In each tent, you'll find a traditional ceiling fan and designs displaying classic and understated elegance. Tents are elevated and furnished with handcrafted beds, antique furniture and oriental carpets. A private balcony with hammocks and Morris chairs affords incredible views across the surroundings.
