Tarangire Treetops effortlessly blends the luxuries of a modern safari with the almost childlike nostalgia of a treehouse and the sense of adventure that comes with sleeping up in the tree canopy. Staffed by the local Masai, there is a wonderfully friendly and colourful feel to the lodge and visitors always feel at home straight away.
The rooms themselves are elevated up above the tree canopy offering wonderful views over the surrounding baobab and marula trees to the reserve beyond. The main part of the lodge is centred around a huge baobab tree, so the feeling is very much of being at one with nature. The rooms are enormous and have their own private decking areas at the front which are a very popular spot to relax and while away an afternoon, perhaps enjoying some ad-hoc game viewing in the process.
The quality of the food and service is always something guests comment on here and the staff go out of their way to make you feel welcome, but without the service becoming obtrusive. The food is delightful and whether you dine in the lodge, in your suite or out in the bush under the stars, you will be assured of a wonderful dining experience.
Tarangire Treetops is, in our opinion, one of the best safari lodges in Tanzania and would grace any itinerary around the famed Northern Circuit. A superb choice.
Wow. This is always our first thought when thinking about Tarangire Treetops. The location and style of the lodge is so unique and coupled with the extraordinary game viewing and low visitor numbers of Tarangire this is a great choice of lodge and park.
Superb food is a feature of the lodge, with most meals enjoyed communally in the main lodge, although if you wish to dine privately you only have to ask. They will often do surprise bush dinners as well and breakfasts accompanied by champagne can be arranged for an extra cost.
20 Treehouse suites make up Tarangire Treetops. Think all of your childhood dreams of a treehouse fused with modern luxuries and built in one of Tanzania's best National Parks and you get the idea! The rooms are huge and have bathrooms at the rear and large decking areas at the front. These are some of the most unique rooms in Africa and must be seen to be believed.
Children are welcome but do bear in mind the unique nature of the property when considering as a family.
