The Makgadikgadi Pan is one of the remotest parts of Botswana and a stay at Camp Kalahari allows you to experience the unique landscape and activities of the area in traditional style. The tented rooms are simple, comfortable and offer superb views out onto the pan. Whenever you are in camp, the friendly staff will attend to your every need, serving delicious meals and brining drinks down to you at the small swimming pool. The activities are the real draw card here, with desert game drives and quad biking safaris (in season) being very popular, as is the chance to see the zebra and wildebeest migration during the summer months. However, the one thing that really draws clients here is the chance to visit the habituated meerkat colonies close to the camp. This is a truly unique and wonderful experience and will live long in the memory of guests of all ages.
Camp Kalahari offers the same access to the Meerkat Habituation project as it's more illustrious brothers San and Jack's Camp, but at a more affordable price. A wonderful option for those looking to interact with these fascinating creatures.
Meals at Camp Kalahari are a communal affair, with the chefs using fresh, interesting ingredients to provide a varied menu.
Camp Kalahari is made up of 10 tents, 6 twin, 3 double and 1 two-bedroom family tent. They are all traditional safari style tents, decorated with rich textiles and have four poster beds.
A great option for families, especially with the range of activities on offer.
