The most surprising and luxurious beach lodge in Malawi.
Hidden away amongst trees and creeping out from the rocks, the lodge is a design dream with every villa having glorious views across the lake. Each of the ten villas is uniquely designed, with some incorporating the rocks that rush from the ground, and others incorporating the foliage growing around them. All have huge terraces, verandahs or decks plus spacious living, sleeping and bathing quarters. Perfect to combine with a safari in neighbouring Zambia.
From the stable of Robin Pope Safaris, a beach-side lodge that offers some of the largest guest rooms in Central Africa – they are truly vast. The local village is definitely worth exploring on foot or by bike, and an outing on the lodge’s traditional dhow boat, hand-built in Lamu, is an absolute must, just remember your camera.
The central area consists of a spacious open restaurant with an undercover are. Amazing and traditional food is served you’ll struggle to refuse. And for a pre meal drink or a night cap before bed, there’s a bar and a cosy fire area.
Each villa has a large bedroom, which opens out onto a private deck where early risers can enjoy the morning’s first rays. The bathrooms also offer splendid views and are well equipped with a bathtub, double shower and double sink, and the spacious lounge area offers further comfort for those wishing to relax in the room.
Quality time has become a rarity in most modern homes. Which is why they offer safaris that provide families with this much needed rarity; accommodating all ages.
Their Safari Houses provide the additional element of exclusiveness/privacy if needed as well. They consider these as homes away from home – coming with fully serviced and staffed houses.
Robin Pope Safaris teams throughout the camps, lodges and houses have contagious enthusiasm and offer family friendly activities in addition to the ‘normal’ game viewing ones. All safaris that take children offer age appropriate activities, keeping the whole family entertained.
