Resting beneath a grove of mahogany trees on the banks of the Zambezi River, Chiawa is one of the most beautifully appointed and luxurious lodges in all of Zambia. The variety of activities from here is fantastic, with the superb guides taking you out to explore the bush in vehicles, on foot, by canoe or boat on the Zambezi. You can also indulge in a spot of fishing, relax in the open sided lounge area or enjoy some star gazing through the telescope on the observation deck. The food here is superb and the surprise bush dinners are always a real treat. Combine a stay here with a few nights at their sister camp, Old Mondoro, to give you a different perspective on a stay in the Lower Zambezi National Park.
If you are looking to explore the Lower Zambezi in the height of luxury then look no further than Chiawa Camp. Beautifully appointed with stunning views and easy access to great game viewing. For a varied itinerary, add in some time at Old Mondoro, it's more rustic sister camp to give yourselves a different perspective on your stay in the bush.
Chiawa offers some of the finest cuisine in Zambia, with the wonderful meals served in a variety of locations, including surprise bush dinners after your evening game drive.
There are 9 suites at Chiawa, which are all very luxurious and beautifully furnished, with free standing baths and indoor and outdoor showers. The large verandas have day beds and arm chairs, meaning you have the perfect spot to relax and take in the views in the afternoons. Suite 9 is ideal for Honeymoon couples as it is more secluded from the rest of the camp and has a larger decking area meaning private dining can be arranged.
Children over 8 are welcome, but they will need to be 12 to go on the bush walks and canoe excursions.
